Hello and welcome to KimonoSoul! This small business is my passion project. I am a big fan of Japanese culture, art and textile design living in Pittsburgh PA, and started KimonoSoul on 11/11/18.

KimonoSoul is primarily a fashion clothing and accessory line, created with all vintage and antique Japanese kimonos and fabrics. The Japanese have created the most incredible, durable and beautiful wearable art in the world. It will give new life and purpose to the beautiful high art form of woven textiles that deserve new life and appreciation.

These textiles enhance our lives with their extremely biocompatible materials of silk, cotton, muslin & hemp, while also offering a sustainable choice for fashion. Woven into their fabrics are a treasure trove of culture and incredible designs!

The spacious and flowing nature of kimonos is an expression of the feminine divine, encouraging our soul's own expansion and energy flow. We can honor the rich culture of the past while expanding into a picture of a more compassionate, Earth aware home and wardrobe.

I stood before a silkworm one day.
And that night my heart said to me,

“I can do things like that, I can spin skies,
I can be woven into love that can bring warmth to people;
I can be soft against a crying face,
I can be wings that lift, and I can travel on my thousand feet
throughout the earth,
my sacks filled
with the
sacred.”

And I replied to my heart,
“Dear, can you really do all those things?”
And it just nodded, “Yes”
in silence.
